Transforming the Elementary Experience Through Discovery Lab

Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, our elementary schools are taking a bold step forward in STEM education with something brand new: The Discovery Lab.

What is the Discovery Lab? It is a dedicated enrichment space where students shift from traditional desk work to hands-on exploration. This isn’t just “play time,” it’s purposeful, high-level learning.

  • Lego Science Kits: Students will use specialized Lego education tools to build and test models that bring scientific principles to life.
  • Curriculum Alignment: The “Lab” isn’t a standalone class; the experiments are specifically designed to mirror the science and literacy topics students are currently studying in their homerooms.
  • Future-Ready Skills: This transition builds the foundation for future expansions into Lego Coding and advanced Computer Science tools.

By reinvesting our resources into the Discovery Lab, we are ensuring that our students aren’t just consumers of information, but creators and engineers.
