Shen Students Launch “Fill-a-Bus” Holiday Food Drive to Support District Families in Need
As the holiday season approaches, Shenendehowa students are stepping up to support their peers through a districtwide initiative to address food insecurity. The Backpack Program Capstone Team is excited to announce Fill-a-Bus, a one-day donation event designed to help ensure that all students have access to essential food items during this time of year.
With the support of the Shen Transportation Department, a school bus will be stationed on the grass outside the Main Entrance of High School East (HSE) on Wednesday, December 17, from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM. Students, staff, and community members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items directly to the bus as they arrive at school. The goal: fill the entire bus with donations that will directly support Shen students and families.
The Backpack Program Capstone Team extends its gratitude to the Shen community for ongoing support. “Let’s work together to make our final event of 2025 a huge success,” the team said. “Every contribution helps us ensure that no student goes without.”
