Success at Capital Region Media Arts Festival

Congratulations to the 19 students selected to participate in this year’s Capital Region Media Arts Festival at Albany High School. The following students had their artwork displayed and competed against students from 16 area high schools...Chase Haver, Abigail Preston, Geslyn Markantonis, Anna Mason, Maddyn Renders, Kyomin Koo, Michael Schanz, Sanuja Khanal, Jackson Jucha, Briella Morris, Patrick Winkler, Matthew Swenton, Evan Morse, Kendall Williams, Noah Powers, Michael Degnan, ALex Schloth, Aero Rodriguez, and Emma Machiski.

In the Photography category, Anna Mason won third place for her self portrait and Patrick Winkler's still life photograph, Childhood, was awarded 1st place.

Sanuja Khanal took home 2nd place in the Experimental Video category for her film, Wonderland and honorable mention for her Computer Based Animation, Allitime. 

Sanuja also received an honorable mention for her Stop Action Animation film, About Everything. Jackson Jucha also received an honorable mention in the Stop Action Animation category for his film, PB&J. More awards in the Stop Action Animation Category include 3rd place for Magic vs.Muscle, a film by Kyomin Koo and Michael Schanz and 2nd place to Maddyn Renders for World of Colors. 

In the Design Category, Chase Haver won 1st place for his typography piece, Moe S. 

Abby Preston's poster of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 won 1st place for Visual Identity & Marketing Materials.
